Here is a list of tips to make your Zoom sessions optimal. Most importantly, don't worry! Zoom's interface intuitively guides you through every step of running a session.

Download in Advance

Download and install the Zoom client on your computer in advance.

Wired Internet

Use a wired internet connection for added stability and speed.

Practice Sessions

Schedule and conduct a few practice meetings with practice users or TAs to get the hang of Zoom's controls.

Recruit a Co-Host

Recruit at least one savvy co-host for each session to help you keep things running smoothly.

Recruit for CC

Recruit someone to offer closed captioning. Contact the University Accessibility Center for help with live transcription.

Start Early

Start your first Zoom sessions at least 30 minutes early to work out any kinks in audio, video, or device connections.

Wear Headphones

It might be most important for session participants, but wearing headphones can prevent audio feedback.

Mute All

When you hear the clickity clack of too many keyboards, mute everyone by clicking the Mute All button.

Test All Devices

Configure and test all your devices (phones, ipads, computers) that you're going to use for your Zoom sessions.

Record to the Cloud

Save your recordings in the Zoom cloud, be prepared for a delay while video recordings process
